The Queen’s Gallery has now become The King’s Gallery.

Access

There are 22 steps up to the main exhibition level. Visitors are asked to go up the left-hand side and come down on the right. The remainder of the Gallery has level access. There is a lift which gives access to the main exhibition level.

Flooring and surfaces

The King’s Gallery and shop have polished wooden floors. There is a stone floor in the lobby.

Respite seating

There is one bench on the main exhibition level. Further seating is available in the Café at the Palace in the Mews Courtyard.

Audio tour

A complimentary multimedia tour, on a touch-screen device, is available in English. Kit is wiped down before use and cleaned on return. Visitors who require headphones are encouraged to bring their own where possible.

Large print information

Large print texts are available to borrow, on a tablet device, from the multimedia desk. Tablets will be wiped down before use and cleaned on return.

Assistance animals

Assistance animals are welcome. We recommend that if possible animals wear a jacket or lead slip to identify them as working.

Staff reserve the right to ask visitors to remove their animal if it is deemed not to be behaving appropriately. Arrangements will then be made for the visitor to return without their animal. Please contact [email protected] for more information.

 

Toilets

Accessible toilets are located in the Gallery once you have purchased a ticket and also in the Café in the Mews courtyard.

 

Shops

The shop is located opposite the Café and next to the entrance to The King’s Gallery. The shop is on one level with wooden flooring.
