From the ancient ruins of Holyrood Abbey to the historic State Apartments, the Palace of Holyroodhouse has been witness to some of the most important events in Scottish and British history in the last 900 years.
During this session pupils will stand in the spots where history was made, and will take on the role of Palace Curator to investigate primary written sources, paintings, and objects to explore stories relating to Royal residents including Robert the Bruce, Mary, Queen of Scots, Bonnie Prince Charlie and Queen Victoria.
Visit includes access to: Holyrood Abbey*, Mary, Queen of Scot’s Bedchamber, Mary, Queen of Scot’s Outer Chamber, The Great Gallery, Darnley’s Ante Chamber, The Lobby, The Great Stair, Royal Dining Room, Privy Chamber, Presence Chamber and Abbey Strand Learning Centre.
