The Royal Mews is one of the finest working stables in the world and home to many of the men and women who work here as grooms, coachmen and carriage restorers. 

Session Learning Objectives:

  • Explore the traditional and historical significance of State ceremonies and processions
  • Discover how the Royal Mews staff support the monarchy in the role as Head of State
  • Find out how different carriages are used for important State events
     

In this session children will:

  • Take part in an interactive tour the coaches and stables at the Mews
  • Handle objects and garments linked to the horses, carriages and staff roles
  • Role play through dressing up and using related props

Session times: 10:30 or 12:30

Duration: 75 minutes
